Maya Antony, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P.
Internal Medicine

Maya Antony, M.D., was an associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of California, Irvine, until starting her private practice. She trained fellows, residents and medical students. She finds the opportunity to mentor future generations of physicians a greatly rewarding experience and continues to teach as a volunteer faculty at UCI.

Dr. Antony’s clinical interests span the range of internal medicine, from preventive care to chronic disease management for adults of all ages.

“It is easy to get caught up in details, hence I step back and see the patient as a whole person,” she says. “I see my role as a facilitator to engage patients in a dialogue about their health issues, and to empower them to make choices and have control over their medical decisions.”

Professional Qualifications:

A diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Antony is board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. She completed her geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles, and residency at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh. She received her medical training at Ogun State University in Nigeria, graduating first in her class.

Dr. Antony also has a master’s degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Personal Interests:

A native of India, Dr. Antony traveled widely before moving to Orange County. She enjoys spending time with her family.
